Coordinator, Student Learning Support Full time or Part time, ongoing, Sydney CBD

The Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP) is a Higher Education Institution and Registered Training

Introduction to the role
The position works within the Student Learning Support (SLS) Unit, whose purpose is to provide exemplary
learning support to ACAP students tailored to meet their particular needs and aligned with College objectives. An
important part of the role will be to coordinate the provision of peer support programs within the College, both online
and in traditional class environments. The role will also coordinate and contribute to the provision of other
services and resources that are delivered face-to-face and online for students studying on campus and by flexible
modes of delivery. The role works collaboratively as part of the Student Learning Support team and reports to the
Manager, Student Learning Support.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Degree in Education or a related discipline
• Demonstrated work experience teaching, tutoring or facilitation in post-secondary education
• Experience in the provision of academic support including assessing learning needs, and teaching academic
writing skills
• Experience developing study/academic skills resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated capability to develop effective working relationships with a diverse range of people
• Effective time management and organisational skills
• Demonstrated capacity to manage a busy workload
• Experience using educational software and ability to efficiently learn new software skills
• The ability to create video, audio and presentation files
Desirable Skills & Experience
• Qualifications in ESL, TESOL or applied linguistics
• Experience with Social Sciences, Counselling or Psychology disciplines
• Masters Degree or Doctorate and/ or experience in VET course development and delivery
• Experience in delivering services to students studying online or at a distance
• Experience in using on-line classrooms
• Experience in coordinating or leading Peer led programs
