Purpose / Role:

• Ensuring effective control and reporting of project costs in accordance with all relevant AMEC policies and procedures.



• Reference should also be made to the individual responsibilities in health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) matters detailed for this position within the Oil and Gas SHEQ Manual.



Key aims and objectives:

• Ensuring that project cost control and reporting is undertaken in a consistent manner and reported in accordance with AMEC policies and procedures.



• Maintain and generate accurate cost reports in a form and frequency that ensures those managing the project/ budgets have clear understanding and visibility of the status of expenditure against budgets



• Working closely with and supporting other members of the cost and planning team.


Prime responsibilities and duties:

• Maintain and promote a safe working environment



• Provide Cost Engineering service to the contract with responsibility for the accurate Cost Reporting of complete projects or individual elements within major projects.



• Expenditure Analysis / Reporting



• Preparation and maintenance of project cost control structures



• Monitor and report costs against Project Target Cost Estimates (TCE’s)



• Allocate costs to appropriate AFE / Cost Centers



• Prepare project cost reports, Value of Work Done  & monthly budget forecasts



• Prepare project cost reconciliations (project escalations, variations etc)



• Manage & Operate Systems



• Meetings, Reports & Communication



• Generating accurate, monthly cost/ man-hour reports for all project activities including, where applicable, both AMEC and Client commitments, accruals, actual expenditure to date and forecast final expenditures



• Contribute to the Contract Commercial Meeting



•  Undertake regular reviews of expenditure against progress and latest estimates by activity, and assessing the impact of cost over/under-runs by preparing trend analyses and options.



•  Actively participate in the following meetings - project progress meetings, change control meetings, KPI/ Incentive return meetings, project delivery and cost departmental meetings.


Experience / Qualifications / Other:

• The candidate must have the ability to produce detailed cost reports that can be substantiated and be able to present them in a professional format to the required level of accuracy.



•  Appreciation of the importance of cost data collection and analysis.

Competencies – role specific:

• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications

• Experience and confidence in the use of typical business software applications


Key internal interfaces:

• Liaison with personnel at all levels within the Contract Services Team and within discrete Projects


Key external interfaces:

• Dealing directly with all levels of personnel within Supplier and Subcontract organisations

• Client interface
