Job
Perform
floodplain and stormwater analyses, modeling and design tasks on
various water resources engineering projects including projects in the
riverine and coastal environment.
Accountabilities
· Independently
manage and perform coastal analysis and hazard mapping including
development of automated tools, coordination of quality control
programs, and support in development of public and other stakeholder
outreach programs
· Independently
manage and perform modeling of extreme flood and low water events in
coastal and riverine environments, performing combined effects analyses
as necessary.
· Independently perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of riverine systems
· Perform field investigations and GIS data processing to obtain data necessary for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
· Prepare floodplain and watershed studies and watershed/stormwater master planning
· Support
coastal planning and analysis projects related to hazard mitigation and
implementation of Capital Improvement Programs from a variety of
clients
· Prepare project reports
· Work with a team of water resources engineers and GIS specialists
· Supervise technicians as necessary
Qualifications
· 7-10 years experience
· BS in Civil Engineering or related field
· North Carolina Professional Engineer licensure preferred
· Knowledge
of coastal riverine hydrology and hydraulics required, experience with
ADCIRC, WHAFIS, HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TR-20, and SWMM models
preferred
· Knowledge of and experience with FEMA floodplain regulations
· Coastal engineering experience is desired
· Experience using ArcGIS is required
· Experience using AutoCAD is preferred
