AMEC’s Mining and Metals business unit currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Structural Designer in the Saskatoon office. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing structural design experience for mine sites and other heavy industrial facilities. With 550+ staff, the Saskatoon Mining & Metals office has served the Saskatchewan market for over 40 years. The Saskatoon office is a regional center for the mining, mineral processing, chemical plants, forestry, power and oil/gas industries. It specializes in both domestic and international potash and uranium projects.


Responsibilities:


·         Providing structural design, 3D modeling, and drafting support for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities, and services

·         Preparing drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or wood structures using AutoCAD and/or PDMS

·         Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications

·         Coordinating and working with project team members


Qualifications:


·         Minimum 10 years of experience

·         Technical diploma with experience in structural design and drafting

·         Excellent AutoCAD, MicroStation and PDMS computer skills

·         3D design/drafting experience using is an asset

·         Solid understanding of structural and architectural engineering aspects of light to heavy industrial projects

·         Experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects would be considered an asset

·         Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks

·         Effective communication skills

·         Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
