to work on their physical Natural Gas desk.
JOB DESCRIPTION
My client, a leading Investment Bank in Houston is looking to appoint a mid-senior level product controller to work on their physical Natural Gas desk. Having recently promoted within the team, there is an active desire to appoint an experience (3-6yrs) commodities specialist to join this strong commodities team. Individuals from a commodity housing environment who are looking to break into the banking scene – apply within!
Location: Houston, Texas
The role:
• Covering the Natural Gas commodities desk
• Reporting into the Head of Middle Office
• Taking the initiative to help with the expansion of the desk
• Collaborate & work closely with the front office commodity traders
• Taking responsibility of the balance sheet
• Liaising closely with the market risk department, assisting as/when required
• Working upon the daily/monthly P&L.
Requirements:
• 3-6 years relevant experience within commodities is required
• Strong communicative skills
• Strong presentation skills
• An internationally recognized accountancy qualification and/or strong mathematical/accountancy background
• Experience of Openlink Endur is preferable but not essential
• Solid exposure to the commodities sector
• Candidates with exposure to both physical and derivatives products are ideal
• Ability to work effectively autonomously as well as part of a team
• Ambitious individuals
• Knowledge of how to account for physical commodities is a preference
• Understanding of finances imbedded within the trades
