Provide analysis, forecasting and budget support to Moody's Ratings business and to finance management.
* Perform financial analysis, business modeling of operating results, and ad hoc report requests
* Prepare reports and presentation for senior management on a regular basis and provide insightful analysis by highlighting historic/current/future business performance.
* Communicate and interact effectively with various departments including Finance, Accounting, Issuer Relations, and Billings
* Must be able to synthesize data from multiple sources and present in a singular coherent style.
* Process and systems improvements, where applicable.
* Participate in special projects as required.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction
* Makes decisions appropriate for level of responsibility, raises concerns to the appropriate level of management and keeps management informed of activities
* Relies on management for key decision making
* Interaction with Business Planning colleagues, Corporate Planning, and Commercial team.
* Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other business discipline
* 1-3 years prior experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) a plus
* Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and analytical skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
* Experienced with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
* Solid understanding of accounting and financial statement reporting
* Detail oriented
The Business Planning team is responsible for financial planning and analysis for Moody's Investors Service. The team prepares the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the ratings team.
