Global investment manager located in Kirkland, WA, is looking for a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join its reporting, asset allocation and risk management team. This position will be responsible for performance reporting, portfolio analysis, financial modeling, and alternative asset valuation.
Global investment manager located in Kirkland, WA, is looking for a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join its reporting, asset allocation and risk management team. This position will be responsible for performance reporting, portfolio analysis, financial modeling, and alternative asset valuation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take the lead on portfolio analytic improvements and innovations and will gain in-depth exposure to a wide array of sophisticated and complex financial instruments. Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibility for production and quality control of critical portfolio performance and asset allocation reports; including reliably generating recurring reports as well as adeptly fielding ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Audit, track, calculate portfolio performance and exposures, and perform due diligence on alternative investment portfolio to ensure adherence to internal valuation policy relating to private equity funds, real estate, and direct investments.
  • Collaborate with the investment desk, performance team, operations group, technology staff, and external partners to evaluate, develop and test new portfolio-related reports/models.
  • Continually identify and implement improvements to existing reports and develop new reporting processes.
  • Improvements and innovations should accurately estimate and analyze performance and risk relative to benchmarks for equity and fixed income portfolios.
  • Power user responsible for building, testing, and maintaining SQL queries and administering statistical packages used for portfolio reporting.
  • Identifying and explaining shifts in asset allocation and portfolio metrics.
  • Partnering with internal operations group to provide quality control on portfolio and position level analytics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 1-2 years in an accounting or similar capacity.
  • Proven attention to detail, with a no-tolerance approach to errors.
  • Strong process-minded and disciplined approach.
  • Sophisticated technical skills are required, advanced Excel skills are a must, and expertise with SQL and MS Access are strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with portfolio analytical tools like FactSet, SPAR, Barra and custodian systems as well as Bloomberg and any statistical packages is a plus; experience with BlackRock Solutions desired.
  • Preference for candidates with knowledge of fixed income and global equity markets as well as experience with direct investment valuations and modeling.
  • Excellent quantitative, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Highly professional team player that has the ability to work independently.
  • CIPM and/or CFA designation preferred.
