Our client has an immediate need to hire a Pricing Director to join their Securities Valuation team. The team is reponsible for evaluating and validating a price for the firms individual securities.
This person will oversee the daily valuation process various fixed income and equity exchanged traded and OTC market instruments and quality control of the entire pricing system.  This will include managing the teams workflows and delegating tasks as required.  Additional responsibilities include:
  • Ensure that eligible securities are adequately priced using pricing best practices.
  • Resolve daily independent price testing tolerance breaks.
  • Assist in the development of policies, procedures and documentation to evidence the effectiveness of the valuation governance & control environment, as well as to administer tolerances used for valuation and price testing.
  • Support the identification of areas where models are not adequate for the product being supported and help identify new valuation techniques as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with audit, legal, and regulatory requirements, and enforce departmental standards.
  • Report and escalate problems relating to price testing tolerance breaks and collateral issues that require adjustments which have been escalated.
  • Manage and analyze vendor performance monitoring process.
  • Manage the implementation of new pricing models and other departmental projects.
  • Develop business requirements and review functional specifications needed to support the implementation of system enhancements and new projects.
  • Make timely operational decisions by securing and analyzing information from multiple sources to identify business risks and issues.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of directly related experience.
  • Exposure to various trading products within equities and fixed income, including cash and derivative instruments.
  • Strong working knowledge of futures, options, and derivative instruments, preferred.
  • Capital markets experience preferred.
  • Experience with fixed income and equity valuation methodologies for both cash and derivative instruments; Experience implementing pricing and/or valuation systems is a plus.
  • Skills/Knowledge:
    • Superior analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Superior knowledge of industry practices with respect to fixed income and derivative instrument valuations methodologies.
    • Ability to perform and document independent price verification analysis.
    • Superior managerial skills.
    • Ability to provide a broad-based view of issues and an understanding of their long-term impact and implications.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
    • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to build relationships and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management, clients, other departments, and vendors.
